Creative Writing

Microcosms is a new path in the teaching of Creating Writing developed by Firenza Guidi. The journey explores and develops different writing styles: from monologue to narrative, from poetry to rap, from stream of consciousness to documentary, from short story to drama. The work reflects the ongoing transformation in theatre, television, film and performance and explores the different "destinations" of the written word in performance.

The workshop is entirely practical and open to everyone who writes, is interested in writing or in developing creative writing techniques. The residences last from one to three days and culminate in "Open Mics", where participants are given the opportunity to read their work before an audience.

Firenza Guidi taught Creative Writing at Cardiff University from 1995 to 2000, as well as leading residences and creative writing workshops around Europe, often along with her work as author-director.
